Security & Safety Support
Job description
- Security & Safety Support will support the needs related to Security and Safety-related matters
- Reports to the District Security, Health & Safety Manager (BSR), who is ultimately responsible for the Expeditors’ Security and Safety Standards.
- Demonstrate leadership and ownership regarding security/safety by:
- Supporting/assisting/taking the lead with the compliance of Expeditors Operational Process Standards and Policies pertaining to Security and Safety.
- Communicating Expeditors Security/Safety requirements to all employees (including warehousing, staffing/temporary labor).
- Communication and management of security resources and tools.
- Proficient communicator - involving all levels of management, customers, sub-contractors, and government officials.
- Demonstrate a strong attitude and a strong desire to solve problems and drive security/safety standards, awareness, compliance, and implementation.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensure facility operations are in full compliance with all security and safety regulations, in coordination with branch management/compliance officers. Observations and conditions must be documented and communicated to Management and BSR
- Monitor and operate security systems (CCTV, intrusion alarm, access control, etc.) as prescribed
- Report all deficiencies to BSR.
- Support service calls as needed.
- Support, coordinate and communicate timely completion of any non-compliant matters identified
- Support and coordinate on all branch security/safety incidents, investigations and follow ups with ELP Management as required.
- Support customers’ risk management teams including involvement in preparing for any customer audits
- Conduct and complete required security and safety related checklist, inspections, audits and or assessments.
- Support the implementation of all applicable local compliance to Health and Safety procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Assist with Health and Safety systems (fire alarms, extinguishers, forklifts etc.; related Health and
- Safety items) as required.
- Ensure reporting and management of workplace safety incidents and near misses, including root cause analysis and risk mitigation.
Preferred experience: Be familiar with the background, functionality, requirements and as it related to business:
- Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT)
- Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA)
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- Office and Warehouse Operations
- CPR/First aid/Bloodborne Pathogen
