Job description

Job Title: AV Technician - Bangalore

Role Summary

The AV Technician provides operational support to customers across all aspects of audio-visual, video conferencing, digital signage, and presentation technologies. The position involves a high degree of customer interaction, including working with executive management and senior leaders, to provide high-quality AV support services.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

All services must be delivered punctually at the scheduled time and in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

The AV Technician is expected to arrive in sufficient time before the scheduled meeting setup and remain until the required service is functioning correctly.

Video & Audio Conferencing

Set up and support video and audio-conferencing systems.

Ensure all conference participants and locations are connected on time and are receiving and transmitting high-quality audio and video.

Support internal and external meetings and events.

Assist with or coordinate support for high-priority internal and external events.

Troubleshoot video and audio-conferencing issues, investigate faults, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

General AV Meeting Room Support

Ensure all multimedia and presentation rooms are maintained in good working order.

Set up, configure, and support AV equipment.

Provide support for presentation and multimedia meeting rooms throughout the duration of meetings and events.

Assist with multimedia broadcasting support.

Respond promptly to emergency and ad hoc support requests.

Assist with IT-related enquiries during support sessions and escalate issues where appropriate.

Arrange equipment loans and rentals to meet client requirements.

Fault Management & Preventative Maintenance

Perform regular preventative room checks to ensure all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with established room check procedures.

Carry out Return Material Authorization (RMA) procedures with suppliers for faulty equipment.

Ensure all faults are reported accurately and in a timely manner.

Perform proactive maintenance and reporting to ensure all AV equipment remains at the highest standard and functions correctly.

Assist with first- and second-line fault diagnosis and repairs.

Carry out system power-down and power-up procedures when required, including occasional out-of-hours work.

Follow up on reported issues to ensure timely resolution.

General Responsibilities

Advise clients on AV best practices.

Provide feedback on communication issues and recommend service improvements.

Identify operational and service issues for review.

Assist with the training of new team members and freelance technicians.

Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Demonstrate flexibility by supporting the team across all areas of service delivery.

Perform manual handling tasks when required, including moving and setting up AV equipment.

Global Coordination

Maintain effective working relationships with global AV, Video Conferencing (VC), and Telepresence (TP) teams.

Attend meetings with global AV teams to discuss service delivery, operational issues, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of audio-visual systems and technologies.

Experience supporting video conferencing platforms and meeting room technologies.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with executive management and senior stakeholders.

Good organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional out-of-hours support.

Ability to safely perform manual handling tasks when required.
