Project Description
Our client, a major enterprise organization in the utility sector, is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Strategy and Risk Manager based in Oakland, CA. This hybrid role serves as the critical bridge between cybersecurity operations and regulatory compliance, leading enterprise-wide security initiatives, developing long-term strategic roadmaps, and managing the organization's overall risk posture. The role carries particular focus on emerging technologies, AI/ML security evaluation, and operational technology environments including Industrial Control Systems. Local candidates only — hybrid onsite presence in Oakland, CA is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between regulatory agencies and internal cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance and strategic alignment
- Lead and drive enterprise-wide cybersecurity programs and develop comprehensive long-term security roadmaps
- Oversee and manage risk assessments across multiple business units and operational environments
- Evaluate AI/ML models for security vulnerabilities, bias risks, and compliance gaps
- Conduct thorough risk assessments on Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and operational technology environments
- Ensure alignment between enterprise security strategy and evolving regulatory requirements
- Safeguard both digital infrastructure and industrial control systems across the organization
Mandatory Skills
- Proven experience developing and implementing enterprise-level cybersecurity strategies
- Track record successfully managing large-scale, complex security programs
- Deep expertise in risk assessment methodologies across digital and operational technology environments
- Strong ability to engage with regulatory bodies and communicate effectively with executive stakeholders
- Solid understanding of emerging technologies and their associated security risks and implications
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in the utility industry with a focus on operational technology (OT) security
- Familiarity with Industrial Control Systems (ICS/SCADA) security frameworks and standards
- Background in evaluating AI/ML systems for security vulnerabilities and bias
- Experience working in regulated industries with complex compliance requirements
