Senior Security Architect

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Architect to strengthen the organization's information security posture. The successful candidate will analyze security monitoring results, identify risks, recommend security improvements, and translate business and security requirements into practical, cost-effective solutions aligned with the organization's security risk appetite.

Contract Details

• Role: Senior Security Architect
• Start Date: 13 July 2026
• End Date: 31 December 2026
• Workload: 60% (approximately 3 days per week)
• Location: On-site (no remote work)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise security architecture aligned with business objectives.
• Analyze and report on security monitoring results.
• Identify security risks and recommend preventive, mitigating, and compensating controls.
• Lead and support security improvement initiatives to increase security maturity.
• Translate business and security requirements into actionable implementation plans.
• Advise stakeholders on practical and cost-effective security solutions.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure security is integrated into enterprise architecture.
• Support compliance and security governance initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Security Architect .
• Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect specializing in Security .
• Strong architectural and conceptual design skills.
• Experience as a Security Incident Responder or Security Analyst .
• Experience with Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring services .
• Hands-on experience with the MITRE ATT&CK Framework .
• Experience using the Common Security Advisory Framework (CSAF) .
• Previous experience within the Higher Education sector.
• Ability to design business-focused, cost-effective security solutions aligned with organizational risk appetite.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent Dutch (CEFR Level C2) .

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing or working with ISO/IEC 27001 .
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with security governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
