The University of Illinois (illinois.edu) is a world leader in research, teaching, and public engagement. AHS promotes health and well-being through learning and engagement, with a focus on optimal living across the lifespan and creating livable, inclusive communities. Our world-classexpert scholars and researchers, and hands-on curricula position AHS at the forefront of research and scholarship that impacts lives globally, including improving quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

The College offers highly ranked programs in Kinesiology; Health Administration; Public Health; Interdisciplinary Health Sciences; Recreation, Sport and Tourism; Speech and Hearing Science; and Speech-Language Pathology. It also includes the interdisciplinary Center on Health, Aging and Disability, with faculty actively collaborating across campus.

The Chez Veterans Center (CVC), also within AHS, supports Veteran and military-connected students and their families through coordinated transition services across academic, personal, wellness, and career domains. CVC also serves as a hub for Veteran-related research, outreach, and institutional collaboration.

Over the past 15 years, the College has experienced significant growth, with enrollment increasing by 32% and degree programs expanding, while maintaining a financial reserve. Following an extensive visioning process, AHS will update its strategic plan during the 2026–27 academic year.

During the University’s With Illinois campaign (2017–2022), AHS raised nearly $49 million, more than doubling its previous campaign total. The College is now in the quiet phase of its next campaign and seeks a leader to guide advancement efforts.
