POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will lead a team of hourly plant production employees. The holder of this position will supervise the rendering production facility in Dundas, Ontario with a focus on health and safety activities, product quality and optimize the use of resources. The successful candidate will also promote staff development. This role is rotating shifts.

SCHEDULE: Rotating Shifts-Days, Afternoons and Nights

POSITION TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train, coach, and mentor production employees, fostering a positive work environment. Manage employee scheduling, approve time and attendance, proactively address employee relations matters and resolve conflicts, and conduct performance reviews to support staff development.
  • Execute the site's health and safety programs, conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis, and ensure all activities comply with company policies and Ministry of Labour standards.
  • Monitor production metrics, generate performance reports, and identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure Regulatory & Quality Compliance: Guarantee all production activities adhere to standards set by the CFIA, HACCP, and other provincial regulatory bodies (e.g., Ministry of Environment).
  • Work closely with maintenance, quality assurance, and other departments to achieve production targets and support the implementation of capital and operational improvements.
  • Organize and lead regular production meetings and training sessions to ensure clear communication and alignment on objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a proven ability to lead and develop a team.

Post-secondary degree or diploma in operations management, or a related technical field is an asset.

Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and quality programs (e.g., HACCP).

Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Oracle and Kronos is a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.

WE OFFER

  • Pay Range: CA $ 70,000 - $85,000 annually. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range with final offers determined by the candidate's specific blend of experience, qualifications, and skillset. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations.
