Maintenance Lead - Overnight Shift
Schedule: 10:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. (Six-day work week) Pay: $34.00 per hour and up
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Lead to oversee the overnight maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, supporting production, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and support the overnight maintenance team to ensure timely completion of preventive and emergency maintenance.
- Coordinate daily maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and maximize production efficiency.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues (up to 480V) and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians.
- Oversee equipment repairs, installations, and fabrication of machine components.
- Ensure proper maintenance of pumps, valves, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and other production equipment.
- Assist with stainless steel sanitation and perform sanitary welding tasks as needed.
- Prioritize maintenance work orders and respond promptly to urgent equipment breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and company policies.
- Train, mentor, and support maintenance technicians while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance department.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Food or dairy manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with sanitary welding or stainless steel sanitation is preferred.
- Working knowledge of pumps, valves, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Proven ability to lead, train, and support a maintenance team.
- Willingness to work the overnight shift (10:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.), a six-day work week, overtime, weekends, and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
- Ability to work in physically demanding and wet manufacturing environments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
