RADIOLOGIST
We are searching for an experienced RADIOLOGIST at our DHB X-RAY facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiologist to join Doctors Hospital Health System, a Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospital system headquartered in New Providence, The Bahamas. As a Radiologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients by utilizing various medical imaging techniques and technologies. Your expertise and compassionate care will contribute to the overall health and well-being of our patients.
POSITION SUMMARY AND DUTIES
- Perform in house shifts for 40 hours every week as assigned on schedule prepared by Director.
- Perform paid on-call shifts inclusive of weekends and holidays as assigned on schedule prepared by director. The payment schedule for the same will be made available on the final contract.
- Report on diagnostic radiology studies (all modalities at DHHS including X rays, CT, USG, MRI, Mammogram, Fluoroscopy) in a timely manner.
- There is an expectation of a minimum of 400 reads every month (unless there is equipment downtime / known vacation or sick leave).
- Communicate and document critical results on Expanse as per departmental policy.
- Perform USG studies when technologist not available.
- Perform Fluoroscopic procedures in room 2 such as barium studies and hysterosalpingograms as assigned on the shift.
- Guide imaging technologists with optimal technique and protocols as necessitated by the physician, patient, clinical query raised.
- Discuss cases before and after they are performed with the referring physician as appropriate.
- Be available to discuss cases with physicians on their shift, in person or on phone.
- Appropriate usage and timely sign off on documents in Expanse.
- Appropriate usage and tagging of studies in Novarad such as teaching cases and utilization review for monitoring image quality.
- Peer review 10 or more cases for all radiologists monthly.
- Attend monthly peer review meetings as scheduled.
- Perform image guided interventions (non vascular or vascular) as appropriate to training and certification.
- Provide image guidance for procedures to other physicians seeking the same under various modalities.
- Provide support to operating room in terms of guidance to physicians if required.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
- Provide quality customer care to patients every time.
- Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure appropriateness of care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary patient care meetings.
- Complete mandatory competencies and training as relevant.
- Attending at least one conference annually.
- 10 days of conference leave shall be made available annually.
- Entitled to 4 weeks of paid vacation annually.
- Non compete clause.
- No engagement in gainful employment outside of DHHS.
- Provide imaging services as required, in person or teleradiology, in various clinics and hospitals of DHHS, including those in the family islands.
- Perform education sessions for technologists (at least 3 annually).
- Participate in other departmental and hospital wide activities as instructed by Seniors/Executive.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a three-year Radiology training program from a recognized University.
- Preferably more than 2 years.
- Any specialized training is welcome specially that in interventional radiology.
- Currently registered with Bahamas Medical Council.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills; both verbal and written, and an understanding of a dynamic health care (patient service) environment.
- Proficient in general radiology techniques, including X-ray, MRI, and ultrasound.
- Patient management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Superb problem-solving skills.
