The Manufacturing, Agribusiness & Services (MAS) Industry Group plays an important role in supporting IFC’s strategic priorities, covering investments in the manufacturing, agribusiness and services sectors (‘services’ include health and education, tourism, retail and property). MAS’ sectors play a critical role in providing goods and services to consumers; their development helps address core needs and create jobs thereby contributing to government revenue and stimulating growth.
IFC is seeking a E T Consultant, based in Amman, Jordan, to support the growth of private sector investments in the Middle East through innovative solutions in Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Services (MAS). This role offers the opportunity to drive impactful development by analyzing market trends, evaluating investment opportunities, and collaborating with global teams to advance IFC’s mission of fostering sustainable economic growth.
Roles Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, modeling, and valuation of investment opportunities in the Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Services (MAS) sectors across the Middle East, ensuring alignment with IFC’s strategic priorities and development impact goals.
- Support the origination, structuring, and execution of investment transactions by preparing high-quality investment proposals, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential investments, including market research, industry analysis, and assessment of financial, operational, and environmental risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, environmental, and social specialists, to ensure compliance with IFC’s performance standards and policies throughout the investment process.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing portfolio investments, identifying risks and opportunities to optimize financial returns and development impact.
- Contribute to the preparation of sector-specific research and thought leadership materials to inform investment strategies and enhance IFC’s visibility in the MAS sectors.
- Assist in the development and implementation of innovative financing structures and solutions tailored to the unique needs of emerging markets clients.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of investment activities, including portfolio updates, financial metrics, and development impact indicators, to internal and external stakeholders.
- Uphold IFC’s values of sustainability, inclusivity, and transparency by promoting high standards of corporate governance, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility in all investment activities.
Selection Criteria
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, with a strong academic record demonstrating quantitative and analytical capabilities. • At least 2 year of professional experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or related fields, with demonstrated exposure to emerging markets transactions.
- Proven ability to conduct financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence for investment opportunities, with a focus on emerging markets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and provide actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and inclusivity.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise, and impactful investment memos, presentations, and reports.
- Proficiency in financial software, tools, and platforms, such as Excel, Bloomberg, or similar, with a willingness to learn new technologies as needed.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to IFC’s mission of promoting sustainable private sector investment in emerging markets, with a demonstrated interest in development finance.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and adaptability, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a growth mindset.
