About UICOMP The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) educates 244 medical students and nearly 300 physician residents annually. It is one of four campuses that make up the nation’s largest public medical school. Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director Clinical Data Analysis, the Clinical Practice Data Analyst acquires, interprets, and analyzes complex data. Works with business leaders providing expertise and ensuring data is accurate, useful and readily available to end users through reports and dashboards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Capture data for interpretation from optimal source, analyze results using statistical techniques and design reports.
  • Identify visual data mapping strategies for use in both departmental and UICOMP campus level financial data.
  • Use analytical skills to evaluate complex trends in data.
  • Harvest data from the current EMR system, conduct data analysis and prepare reports/charts for departmental management. Provides education on interpretation and use of data.
  • Define and manage Key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and benchmarks related to healthcare quality, revenue cycle management, medical education, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manages and update KPIs on the strategic plan dashboards.
  • Ensures that data sources are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with best practices and organizational goals.
  • Analyzes trends, variances, and progress towards strategic goals.
  • Develops data driven recommendations and visualizations to communicate insights, educate and facilitate strategic decision making.
  • Develop repository of information for reference. work and coordinate reporting activities with various departments to verify the integrity of information to be used internally and with clinical affiliates.

  • Stays abreast of new business intelligence tools, systems and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Information Management, Healthcare Information, Nursing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, Management Engineering, Business or closely related fields or as required by the position to be filled in the area of specialization inherent in the position may be required.
  • One (1) year (12 months) of data management/analyst work experience in a clinical or healthcare related field.
