digacore
Director of Development & Automation
Job description
Director of Development & Automation
Why Digacore?
We’re a fast-paced, people-first MSP recently recognized as one of New Jersey’s Top Workplaces for 2026. We offer:
- Real career growth
- Autonomy to own projects and make decisions
- A collaborative culture (we back each other up, no egos)
- Leadership that values innovation, efficiency, and practical solutions over bureaucracy
About the Role
We’re looking for a Director of Development & Automation to lead our DNA team and turn Digacore’s technology vision into delivered results. You’ll own the roadmap, set priorities, and make sure our data is trustworthy and our AI and automation work drives real ROI.
You’ll lead a team of specialists and act as the bridge between the business and the technical — translating what each department needs into solutions the team can build, prioritizing the backlog, and holding the team accountable for delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, manage, and hold the DNA team accountable — set priorities, run the cadence, develop the team, and own delivery
- Translate the technology vision into a sequenced, resourced roadmap with clear business outcomes, and decide what gets built and in what order
- Own the single source of truth and data governance — data quality, reconciliation, KPI definitions, and reporting integrity the leadership team trusts
- Prioritize AI and automation use cases by ROI, oversee build/test/rollout, and measure real impact after launch
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Service, Finance, and People to turn business needs into executable solutions and manage stakeholder expectations
- Build and deploy reporting, dashboards, and BI that help teams and leaders make better decisions
What Success Looks Like in Year One
- A live single source of truth, with agreed KPI definitions leadership actually trusts
- A prioritized AI/automation backlog with shipped wins and documented ROI
- The team staffed, ramped, and running a predictable delivery rhythm
What You Bring
- Experience leading a small technical team (3–6 people) — real people leadership including hiring, coaching, and running a delivery cadence, not just leading projects as a senior individual contributor
- A track record building reporting/BI and a single source of truth — owning data quality, KPI definitions, and reconciliation, and turning messy data into something leadership trusts; hands-on with a BI stack (Power BI or similar)
- Shipped AI or automation with measurable ROI — use cases that went live and moved a number, not pilots and slide decks, with the judgment to tell a use case worth building from a shiny distraction
- Strong business-translation skills — you’ve worked cross-functionally and turned “we need X” from non-technical people into a built solution
- Roadmap ownership — you’ve prioritized a backlog against limited resources and said no
- Bonus: SMB or lean-team experience where you had to be hands-on and build the function
- Bonus: MSP or IT-services background, or familiarity with that operating model and tools like ConnectWise (our PSA)
Compensation
$150k-$180k Annually (depending on experience)
