Responsibilities

In this role the Medical Laboratory Assistant will perform the following job duties:

  • Perform skin punctures to obtain blood specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Prompt accurate processing of test requisitions, accurate charging, registering and ordering tests for outpatients, informing techs of stats and other timed or urgent testing.
  • Telephone patients, physicians and nursing units when required.
  • Maintain neat and organized collection trays, collection areas and work areas.
  • Expected to demonstrate logical, professional behaviors under demanding and stressful conditions.

Schedule

FTE 1.0

Hours: 6:00pm-6:00am

Days: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Phlebotomy Certification, preferred

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
