Overview
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for cleaning, disinfection, inspection, distribution, retrieval, and inventory management of assigned mobile medical equipment. Ensures equipment is safe, clean, available for patient use, and maintained at established par levels throughout the hospital and FSEDs while supporting Clinical Engineering operations.

Education · High school diploma or equivalent required · Licensure/Certification/Registration · n/a
· Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required · Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. · Prior hospital experience with medical equipment handling, Central Supply or Sterile Processing, Environmental Services, or Supply Chain preferred. ·
One year of work experience, including one or more of the following: inventory, stocking, materials handling, hospital and/or health related skills. · Good communication skills and attention to detail ·
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in operation of a computer. POPULATION SPECIFICS This position is required to have knowledge and competency to assess, treat, interpret, and/or care for the population specifics as identified: · Provide appropriate medical equipment support to the Team Members of UF Health Central Florida.

DEGREE OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED ·
Limited Supervision: individual proceeds on his/her own initiative, in compliance with policies, practices, and procedures prescribed by immediate supervisor.
COMPETENCIES FOR POSITION · Utilizes computerized equipment tracking systems · Demonstrates understanding of infection prevention practices · Maintains accurate documentation · Identifies equipment requiring repair or preventive maintenance · Maintains customer service standards while interacting with clinical staff
UNIT BASED COMPETENCIES · Performs cleaning and disinfection of assigned mobile medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer IFU, infection prevention standards, and hospital policies · Performs routine rounds to collect dirty equipment from soiled utility rooms · Performs basic operational inspections to verify equipment readiness · Removes damaged or malfunctioning equipment from service · Maintains charging stations and designated equipment storage areas · Delivers equipment to clinical departments and maintains par level of equipment · Verifies preventive maintenance status and transports equipment requiring schedule maintenance to Clinical Engineering · Verifies RTLS location tags are active, replace batteries if necessary · Assists Biomedical Technicians as needed and performs other duties as assigned · Assists in finding medical equipment due for PM on the “unable to locate” list · Assists in equipment recalls and urgent equipment deployment

Responsibilities
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
· Organizes work for shift based on customer needs and available equipment.
· Maintains a computerized profile of departmentally monitored minor bedside equipment owned or located at UF Health Central Florida and assists with inventory activities
· Tracks equipment locations utilizing computerized asset management systems
· Responds to urgent clinical equipment requests · Reports damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment and unusual operating conditions · Distributes, Retrieves, and Monitors all equipment assigned to the EDC department with speed and accuracy.
· Contributes to the education and safe use of equipment
· Assists in the Quality Improvement of the department and hospital.
· Assists with emergency preparedness equipment staging
