- Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU .
Responsibilities
- The General Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, replacing, or otherwise improving items of the Hospital Facilities or equipment. Perform semi-skilled work in several crafts.
- Perform semi-skilled tasks. (Examples) repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors or other building fixtures, plumbing and electrical, and basic carpentry skills are required
- Adjust and make repairs, “on location” to equipment and physical plant
- Construct or reconstruct equipment and the physical plant
- Perform a variety of small construction tasks as directed
- Install such new equipment as directed
- Responsible for snow removal during and after hours
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair
- Perform other duties of the department, as assigned
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- 3 years in maintenance, various types of equipment, and physical plant
- 2 years of construction experience in basic carpentry and drywall •
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
Proven maintenance experience.
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches
Preferred Job Requirements
- Hospital setting experience.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
