Pharmacy1st Health is building the clinical infrastructure for rural America by transforming independent pharmacies into integrated care delivery hubs. Our model combines primary care, pharmacy services, and chronic disease management under one roof, creating a new, lower-cost site of care for underserved communities.
We operate across multiple states and are rapidly expanding a network of rural clinics co-located with pharmacies. Our goal is to deliver scalable, high-quality care while improving access, outcomes, and cost efficiency.
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Staff Pharmacist to oversee daily pharmacy operations while delivering exceptional clinical care. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining efficient pharmacy operations, supporting pharmacy staff, and partnering with the broader healthcare team to improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and Iowa Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including prescription verification, workflow management, inventory control, and medication safety.
- Provide exceptional patient care through accurate dispensing, medication counseling, immunizations, medication therapy management, and other clinical services.
- Supervise, mentor, and support pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy staff to promote a culture of safety, accountability, and excellent customer service.
- Maintain quality assurance standards and implement continuous process improvements.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Support the growth of pharmacy and clinical services within the community.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits, inspections, controlled substance records, and internal reporting.
- Help drive operational excellence by balancing patient care, compliance, workflow efficiency, and business performance.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Active Iowa Pharmacist license in good standing (or ability to obtain licensure prior to start).
- One or more years of community or retail pharmacy experience preferred. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy regulations, third-party insurance billing, and pharmacy management systems.
- Strong clinical judgment with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
