Installation Technician - Seating Systems - Travel
Job description
INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN
Seating Systems, Traveling Crews
Now hiring in Grand Rapids, MI and Pensacola / Milton, FL
Ever wonder what an NFL stadium, a college arena, or a concert hall looks like before a single seat is bolted down? Three Sixty’s crews are the ones who build it, seat by seat, all over the country. We install and remove seating systems in stadiums, arenas, theaters, and government and military facilities, and we are looking for people to join our crews based in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Pensacola, Florida.
This job is not for everyone, and we would rather tell you that up front than have you find out three weeks in. If you like the idea of traveling, working with your hands, and being part of a small crew that becomes like a second family, keep reading.

THE PART PEOPLE LOVE ABOUT THIS JOB
- See the country. Our work is concentrated east of the Mississippi, and our crews travel to a new city and a new venue on a regular basis. If you like the idea of waking up somewhere different every few weeks, this job delivers that.
- Work in venues most people only see from the stands. We install seating in professional and college sports arenas, live entertainment venues, and concert halls. If you are into sports or live events, there is something genuinely cool about being on the floor of a stadium before anyone else gets there.
- A real crew, not just coworkers. You will work with the same 4 to 5 person crew on most jobs, always led by an experienced foreman. The people who thrive here say their crew feels like a second family.
- Pay that grows with you. We start at $20-25 per hour to start, and experienced installers with strong carpentry skills and a great work ethic can earn up to $30 per hour.
LET’S BE HONEST
We lose good people at this stage more than any other, not because they are not capable, but because the travel ends up being more than they expected. So here it is:
- You may not always know where you are going until a couple of days before you leave. Construction schedules shift; flexibility is not a nice-to-have here, it is the job.
- Trips typically run 5 to 10 days, and sometimes longer. The average job is about 4 days, but larger jobs can run up to 4 weeks. We work hard to get everyone home on weekends, but 15 to 20 percent of the time, you may be leaving on a Sunday.
- The physical work can be your gym time. You will be unloading trucks, on your knees installing seats, and on your feet for 4 to 5 days at a time. It can be your exercise routine, no extra gym time required!
If reading that made you more interested, not less, you might be exactly who we are looking for.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Install and remove seating systems in stadiums, arenas, theaters, and government and military facilities
- Load and unload trucks, and prepare and clean up job sites
- Assemble and secure seating components using hand and power tools
- Follow project specifications, layouts, and safety protocols
- Work closely with your crew and foreman to hit project deadlines
- Learn the ins and outs of multiple seating manufacturers and product lines over time
WHO THRIVES IN THIS ROLE
- Open-minded and coachable. You do not need experience with hand tools or seating installation. Assembly is straightforward and we train quickly. What matters more is being willing to be the new person on a crew, patient enough to learn the ropes, and comfortable asking questions.
- Physically capable and ready to work hard. This is genuinely physical labor, day after day. If you are in good physical condition and do not mind hard, hands-on work, you will fit right in.
- Personable and easy to travel with. Being someone others enjoy working with matters as much as your work ethic.
- Genuinely flexible. Plans change. Timelines shift. The best crew members adapt well to changing project schedules.
- Drawn to travel and new places, not just tolerant of it. The people who last in this role enjoy the idea of seeing the country as part of their job.
WHAT YOU NEED
Required
- Willingness and genuine desire to travel regularly, including overnight and multi-day trips
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy materials up to 50lbs, work on your knees for extended periods, and stay on your feet
- A valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a thorough background check due to the nature of some of our contracts, including government and military work
- A personable, easygoing nature
- Comfortable working at heights, in large venues, and in varying job site conditions
- Experience with hand tools
Nice to Have
- General construction experience
- Prior carpentry experience
PAY & BENEFITS
- Starting pay of $20-25 per hour
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- A genuine path to running your own crew for those who pick up the trade quickly and bring strong problem-solving skills
READY TO SEE THE COUNTRY?
If the travel excites you more than it worries you, and you are ready for physically demanding work alongside a crew that has your back, we would love to talk.
