Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Manager

Are you a visionary Advanced Practice Provider leader who is passionate about building high-performing teams and driving clinical excellence?
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager to lead a dynamic team of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants within one of the nation's leading academic medical centers. In this influential leadership role, you'll have the opportunity to shape clinical practice, mentor advanced practice providers, improve patient outcomes, and help drive strategic initiatives that impact care across the organization.
Working closely with physician leadership, nursing leadership, and executive partners, you'll foster innovation, strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration, and create an environment where APPs can thrive professionally while delivering exceptional patient care.
What You'll Do
Lead a High-Performing APP Team
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and clinical oversight for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
- Recruit, onboard, coach, develop, and retain exceptional APP talent.
- Conduct performance evaluations, establish professional development plans, and foster career growth.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
Drive Clinical Excellence
- Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based, high-quality patient care across multiple clinical programs.
- Monitor provider competency, documentation quality, and clinical outcomes.
- Develop and implement best practices, policies, and clinical standards.
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for advanced practice providers.
Improve Quality & Patient Outcomes
- Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, operational efficiency, and clinical outcomes.
- Partner with Quality Management to implement system-wide process improvements.
- Participate in root cause analyses, chart reviews, and multidisciplinary quality initiatives.
- Champion initiatives that improve patient satisfaction and enhance the patient experience.
Partner in Strategic Growth
- Collaborate with physician, nursing, and operational leaders to identify opportunities for program expansion and innovation.
- Assist with strategic planning, business development, and operational initiatives.
- Analyze clinical and operational data to improve performance and support informed decision-making.
- Help design innovative APP practice models that improve access and efficiency.
Manage Operations
- Oversee staffing models, scheduling, and workforce planning.
- Manage departmental budgets and operational performance.
- Ensure appropriate resource utilization while maintaining exceptional quality of care.
- Support initiatives that improve patient throughput and operational effectiveness.
Advance the Profession
- Encourage participation in professional organizations, research, education, and scholarly activities.
- Support publication, presentations, leadership development, and national professional engagement.
- Foster a culture of innovation and lifelong learning among APPs.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current Maryland licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- National certification in your specialty
- Minimum of 5 years of Advanced Practice Provider clinical experience
- At least 3 years of progressive leadership experience managing clinical teams
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary healthcare teams
