Registered Nurse - Cardiac Ward

Lake Macquarie is seeking experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join their fast-paced Cain Ward. This is a mixed surgical and medical ward specialising in the care of cardio-thoracic, vascular and cardiac medical inpatients (including telemetry beds). We have full-time, part-time and casual positions available with flexible rostering across morning, afternoon, twilight and night shifts. 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care in a fast-paced cardiac environment
• Monitor and manage post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients
• Care for patients undergoing interventional cardiology and structural heart procedures
• Perform cardiac monitoring and recognise/respond to patient deterioration
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Support patients and families through recovery and education
• You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care delivery in alignment with hospital policies.

Essential Criteria

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum of 2 years cardiac experience (preferred)
• Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
• Highly organised with a proven ability to manage emergency situations
• Demonstrates strong adaptability in dynamic situations
• Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
