Onco-hospitalist at Duke Raleigh Hospital | Raleigh, North Carolina
Duke Raleigh Hospital is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician to join our nationally recognized Hospital Medicine team with a special focus on oncology. This role will be based at our Duke Raleigh campus, which is a 230-bed facility with an average census of around the 200s in 2025. The hospital medicine census is around 70% of the hospital census.
Position Highlights
- Provide daytime care for hospitalized adult patients at our Duke Raleigh campus, including those admitted who have a primary issue of oncology, whether they are admitted for chemo, chemo side effects, end-of-life care, etc.
- Extensive and ongoing communications with primary oncology teams who routinely manage the cancer care of patients in the outpatient setting
- Closed ICU, no procedures expected, target census 13 pts/MD, team includes APP model
- Schedule is flexible, usually a 5-9-day block with a similar number of days off
Candidate Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency
- BC/BE in Internal Medicine
- Hematology/Oncology Fellowship preferred, but not required
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in North Carolina
