YOUR TASKS

  • Supervise a gateway operations team on a rostered shift basis ensuring that shipments enter and exit the country in accordance with network procedures in a safe and secure manner.
  • Manage the warehouse process and ensure that all shipments are processed in the quickest, most efficient manner possible and transferred to the dedicated movement in accordance with service standards for each.
  • Monitor ground handler and warehouse performance and complete all necessary reports.
  • Regularly coordinate equipment checks to initiate proactive maintenance in cases of potential failure.
  • Develop KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance process.
  • Plan and manage the manning levels to attain productivity targets and to meet business requirements.
  • Evaluates procedures and methods to achieve optimum service and cost performance; participates in Gateway quality policy and initiatives.
  • Monitor operations to ensure service procedures and performance standards are met.
  • Enforce shipment security measures and controls.
  • Develop a culture of quality, service excellence (for internal customers), flexibility and cost consciousness.
  • Identify training needs and career development opportunities to drive a high-performance team.
  • Develop KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.

Qualifications

YOUR PROFILE

  • Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, resourcefulness and empathy.
  • Well- developed relationship skills and ability to network with multiple levels of an organization and other business units.
  • Typically requires Diploma (or equivalent) 2-3 years operations experience, preferably within transportation or logistics industry
  • Line Trainer certified
  • First Aid certified
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Acceptance Certification
