Job description

Hose Express Ltd, t/a Pirtek Cork & Waterford, Unit 2 Westlink Business Park, Mallow Road,Cork, due to expansion, requires 2 motivated, enthusiastic HGV Mechanics with at least 2 years’ experience and a Level 6 qualification, who take pride in their work to join their team as HGV Mechanics /Hydraulic Plant Fitters at their Cork Depot. This is a Full Time Permanent role with an annual gross salary of €40,000.00 for a 39 hour week. Pirtek Cork & Waterford , opened in 1999, specializes in the mobile “onsite” service and replacement of hydraulic hose, and in the industrial hose and fittings market. The role would suit someone with a Hydraulic / plant fitter / mechanical engineering / HGV or automotive fitter background. We require someone with good communication skills, good numeracy, Good hands on ability, with a confident approach to problem solving. A team player willing to learn and put the effort in. The central role will be to provide a professional On-site Hose Replacement Service to Pirtek customers. This role will include being part of a 24 hr ‘on-call’ rota with other technicians. Candidates will be expected to actively promote Pirtek products and services to existing and prospective customers throughout their given territory. The candidate is expected to maintain the highest levels of health and safety practice including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment where applicable The day to day management of a Mobile Workshop to include: Maintaining sufficient stock levels as per a supplied stock list. Performing routine maintenance checks in accordance with defect checklist. Ensuring the mobile workshop is kept clean and tidy inside and outside. Managing all Pirtek supplied documentation including technical and procedural updates To provide assistance to Centre staff when requested To attend Pirtek training courses as requested by management Good personal presentation and adherence to Pirtek policies and procedures Skills and Competencies Basic mechanical knowledge Good manual dexterity and physical ability Good communication skills both orally and in writing The ability to present yourself in a professional and courteous manner to customers and staff The ability to work unsupervised and to time constraints Ability to effectively communicate technical information to engineering personnel Successful completion of the Pirtek Induction and Training programmes (based in Birmingham) and subsequent on-site assessments as requested by management.
