Open Porter Position – 180 Pearl

Summary The Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the property. This is a union position. The role helps ensure all common areas, entrances, and facilities are well maintained and presentable for residents, visitors, and staff. Duties include routine cleaning, basic maintenance support, supply restocking, and responding to cleaning or safety needs as they arise.

Responsibilities and Duties

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors, carpets, vents, restrooms, and other common areas.

Keep building entrances, lobbies, and exterior areas clean, clear, and free of clutter.

Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.

Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs.

Identify and report property damage or maintenance concerns; coordinate with technicians and monitor repairs when needed.

Maintain an organized inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when items need to be replenished.

Place appropriate safety signage for wet floors, wet paint, and other potential hazards.

Respond promptly to spills, cleaning emergencies, and other urgent property needs.

Follow all health, safety, and building regulations.

Follow emergency and evacuation procedures when necessary.
