You could work anywhere. We know you are talented and looking for something inspiring and impactful. A place where you will make a difference and have a great time doing it!

By choosing Sagent, you can be part of our mission to make loans and homeownership simpler and safer for all US consumers.

Sagent powers servicers and consumers. You power Sagent!

About the Opportunity:

We are looking for an AI Engineer to build and deliver the core AI capabilities powering the Dara MCP platform. This individual contributor role will own AI feature delivery end-to-end—from LLM integrations and MCP tool development to Kafka-based event pipelines and Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) workflows. You will work closely with architects, engineers, product teams, and mortgage servicing SMEs to bring scalable, production-grade AI solutions to life.

Our team will provide you with the best tools, resources and compensation to get the job done…and enjoy every minute of it. And if it couldn't get any better….this role is HYBRID.

Your Day-to-Day at Sagent:

  • Build and ship production-ready AI capabilities across Dara MCP services.
    • Implement MCP tool servers using FastMCP and Streamable HTTP frameworks.
    • Develop and maintain Kafka consumer/producer pipelines supporting AI event-driven workflows.
    • Build document extraction, classification, and information retrieval solutions using LlamaIndex and LlamaParse.
    • Integrate enterprise LLM solutions including Claude Sonnet and Vertex AI services.
    • Design and maintain Neo4j graph queries and schemas supporting mortgage document models.
    • Contribute to Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) review workflows and confidence scoring mechanisms.
    • Develop, maintain, and execute unit, integration, and AI evaluation tests to ensure solution reliability.
    • Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and solution planning activities.
    • Collaborate with Mortgage Servicing SMEs to validate extraction accuracy and business outcomes.
    • Maintain developer tooling, automation utilities, and AI engineering best practices.
    • Document APIs, data models, AI workflows, and pipeline designs for internal consumption.
    • Support code reviews and ensure high standards of AI correctness, performance, and reliability.
    • Contribute to deployment readiness, post-release improvements, and platform modernization initiatives.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on AI/ML solution development.
    • Hands-on experience integrating Large Language Models such as Claude, GPT-4, Gemini, or similar platforms.
    • Strong understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector search, chunking strategies, and prompt engineering.
    • Experience building document extraction, information retrieval, and structured data mapping solutions from unstructured content.
    • Expertise implementing MCP servers and AI-driven service integrations using FastMCP or similar frameworks.
    • Experience designing and supporting Kafka-based event-driven architectures and messaging systems.
    • Strong knowledge of Neo4j graph databases, schema design, and Cypher queries.
    • Proficiency in Python and experience with TypeScript/Node.js for AI and API development.
    • Experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI, Node.js, or similar frameworks.
    • Familiarity with Azure APIM, OAuth2, RBAC, and cloud-native security practices.
    • Experience working with GCP Vertex AI, model invocation, and endpoint management.
    • Knowledge of PostgreSQL, vector databases, and modern AI data architectures.
    • Familiarity with LlamaIndex, LlamaParse, Claude APIs, embedding models, and related AI tooling.
    • Exposure to mortgage servicing, loan document workflows, financial services, or regulated industry environments is highly preferred.
    • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
