Senior Automation Test Engineer (Selenium/ Katalon)

• Analyze requirements and existing manual test cases, and (re)design end-to-end scenarios that are suitable for automation.
• Design, build, and maintain the test automation framework using Katalon, including reusable common keywords/functions, test data preparation, and error/exception handling.
• Develop, execute, and stabilize automated test scripts across web (cross-browser: Chrome, Edge, Safari), mobile app (iOS / Android), and API testing.
• Integrate the suite into the client’s CI/CD pipeline (JIRA, GitLab); review and peer-review test cases and scripts.
• Report results and automation ROI (pass/fail, defects, coverage); maintain test strategy, test plan, and best-practice docs for handover.
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching to the client’s QA engineers and support handover and enablement.
• Participate in sprint planning and collaborate closely with the Scrum team and client stakeholders to provide test recommendations.
• Work directly with the client to clarify requirements and test scenarios, share progress and results, and coordinate with the client’s PO, QA, and DevOps stakeholders.
• 5+ years of experience in test automation, including hands-on framework design and scripting.
• Solid experience designing and scripting automation with Selenium and/or Appium (or equivalent), including page-object / keyword-driven design patterns.
• Proficiency in Java or Python for test scripting.
• Strong API testing skills (REST), including request/response validation and integration testing.
• Solid command of the testing process: test strategy, test approach, test plan, test case design, bug reporting, and test reporting.
• Experience with JIRA and Git/GitLab, and building CI/CD processes (e.g., Jenkins / GitLab CI).
• Hands-on experience in manual testing.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with Katalon Studio / Katalon Platform (strongly preferred). Candidates with strong Selenium/Appium backgrounds and a willingness to ramp up on Katalon will be considered.
• Experience in the banking / financial services domain, ideally with core banking, trade finance, or bank guarantee workflows.
• Good English skills sufficient to read technical documentation.
• Proficient daily use of AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) across the full SDLC
• Able to decompose complex tasks, provide effective context, and apply chain-of-thought and multi-step prompting workflows
• Experience with agentic workflows and AI-driven development frameworks
• Hands-on experience integrating AI tools with other systems via MCP (Model Context Protocol) or equivalent.
• Awareness of emerging AI tools and willingness to evaluate and adopt new capabilities.

Engagement Details

• Delivery model: Agile/Scrum, two-week sprints; ~6-month engagement, working under the guidance of Senior/Lead Automation Engineers.
• Location: Primarily based at KMS office (hybrid working mode); occasional on-site presence at the client's Ha Noi head office may be required during key phases, accompanied by senior team members.
• Team: Works within a KMS automation squad, reporting to and mentored by a Senior Automation Engineer/Test Lead.
