POSITION AVAILABLE: Human Resource Manager - Mumbai (Hybrid)
Role Mandate
We are seeking a strategic and business-focused HR professional to partner with leaders, strengthen the India people agenda, oversee HR & Admin governance, and support a high-performance workplace. This role will align people strategy with business objectives, improve employee experience across the lifecycle, support workforce planning and capability building, and enable service delivery, employee accountability, and business continuity through data-driven and practical HR solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership & Organizational Effectiveness
- Partner with business leaders to align people strategy, workforce planning, employee engagement, and capability-building initiatives with business priorities.
- Support organization design, workforce capability planning, leadership development, and change management initiatives.
- Partner with India leadership, Global HR, Finance, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to support workforce readiness, organization structure, change management, and process improvements.
Regional HR Governance & Advisory
- Provide HR governance, advisory support, and oversight for India and assigned international markets including Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, and UAE, ensuring alignment with local employment requirements and global HR standards.
- Partner with local advisors and regional stakeholders on country-specific employment requirements, contract administration, benefits coordination, and people-related compliance matters.
Corporate Goals, KPIs & People Analytics
- Monitor, analyze, and drive HR KPIs, workforce metrics, hiring effectiveness, employee engagement, productivity, retention trends, and corporate HR goals, providing actionable recommendations to leadership to support business performance and organizational effectiveness.
- Analyze engagement, attrition, hiring, workforce, and productivity metrics to identify trends, assess organizational health, and provide strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Support the development, governance, measurement, and reporting of employee engagement, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), wellbeing, and sustainability initiatives aligned with organizational and corporate goals.
Talent Management, Learning & Employee Relations
- Oversee the end-to-end employee lifecycle, ensuring a consistent and positive employee experience from onboarding to exit.
- Support performance management, talent reviews, succession readiness, internal movements, and capability-building initiatives in line with business needs.
- Design and support training and development initiatives, including manager capability building, employee learning needs, skill-gap identification, and development action plans aligned with business priorities.
- Advise and partner with leadership and managers on sensitive employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, performance management, organizational change, workforce restructuring, employee exits, and people-risk mitigation, ensuring decisions are aligned with company policies, employment regulations, business objectives, and best HR practices while maintaining fairness, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
Team Management & HR Operations Leadership
- Lead, guide, and develop HR team member(s) and support staff, ensuring clarity of priorities, timely execution of HR and Administration deliverables, process discipline, accountability, and professional growth.
- Set expectations, delegate operational responsibilities, review work outputs, provide coaching and feedback, and ensure effective follow-through on HR initiatives, day-to-day HR activities, employee support, and administrative priorities.
- Build a collaborative and service-oriented HR operating rhythm to ensure smooth execution of employee lifecycle activities, documentation, compliance coordination, internal communication, payroll support, HRIS updates, and workplace administration.
- Strengthen HR team capability by promoting ownership, accuracy, responsiveness, confidentiality, and continuous improvement in HR service delivery.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Oversee recruitment strategy and hiring governance, focusing on quality of hire, time to hire, candidate experience, offer-to-join ratio, and hiring manager alignment.
- Drive talent acquisition strategy and talent pipeline development through market mapping, referral programs, digital sourcing channels, and recruitment partnerships aligned with current and future workforce needs.
Compliance, ISO, Payroll & Rewards Governance
- Review, develop, and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and people practices to ensure compliance, consistency, and business alignment.
- Ensure compliance with key India employment requirements, including employment documentation, Shops & Establishments, POSH, PF, ESIC, professional tax, gratuity, statutory bonus, TDS, audits, employee records, and policy documentation.
- Support governance, audit readiness, and continual compliance with ISO 27001 and other applicable organizational standards, ensuring HR policies, processes, records, controls, data privacy, and information security practices align with certification requirements.
- Provide oversight of payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, vendor management, audit readiness, and timely salary processing.
- Support compensation and benefits governance, including salary benchmarking, structure reviews, statutory benefit alignment, employee benefit coordination, and payroll-related communication.
Administration & HR Technology
- Provide governance and budget oversight for Administration, workplace operations, vendors, facilities, office infrastructure, travel coordination, and employee workplace services.
- Ensure accurate HRIS data management, employee records, workflows, dashboards, and reporting while identifying opportunities to streamline HR and Admin processes through digital or AI-enabled tools.
- Drive HR process automation, AI adoption, and utilization of HR technology to improve efficiency, employee experience, and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Commerce, or a related field; MBA/PGDM in HR will be preferred.
- 6–10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably across HR business partnering, talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and HR/Admin oversight.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in team handling, people supervision, or guiding HR/Admin team members, including assigning work, reviewing deliverables, coaching, and ensuring timely execution of priorities.
- Proven experience partnering with senior stakeholders and managers to support people decisions, improve capability, and drive business outcomes.
- Experience managing hiring priorities, recruitment partners, sourcing channels, and recruitment metrics such as quality of hire, time to hire, offer-to-join ratio, and candidate experience will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll governance, compensation administration, benefits management, and statutory compliance like PF/ESIC/PT/TDS, employee documentation, employee relations, and HR governance.
- Working knowledge of Indian Labour Codes, including the Code on Wages, with the ability to support salary structure, payroll, and compliance readiness.
- Experience in a multinational, consulting, service-based, matrix, MSME, or multi-location environment will be an advantage.
- Exposure to administration oversight, vendor management, office operations, facilities, or workplace services will be preferred.

- Ability to establish, monitor, and report on HR KPIs, workforce trends, organizational metrics, and corporate goal progress to support business decision-making.
- Strong problem-solving, conflict-resolution, decision-making, and change management capability.
- Working knowledge of HRIS/ATS tools, MS Office, HR dashboards, recruitment analytics, payroll reports, employee records, documentation, and digital or AI-enabled HR process improvements.
Other Requirements
- Strong command of written and spoken English, with the ability to draft clear employee communications, leadership updates, and policy/process documents.
- Ability to work effectively with global stakeholders, cross-functional leaders, external vendors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Comfortable working from the Mumbai office and overseeing India HR and Admin requirements as needed.
- Preferred candidate should be assertive, process-driven, balanced, people-focused, and capable of earning trust across leadership and employees.
Reporting - General Manager - India
Location: Mumbai – Hybrid (3 times a week)
CTC offered – 8-12 Lacs p.a
with the final offer aligned to the candidate’s last drawn salary within this range.
