CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Water Team in Blacksburg, VA or Richmond, VA . In this role, you will serve as a technical leader on complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, helping clients address critical challenges through thoughtful planning, innovative design, and practical engineering solutions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to guide project delivery, support the development of emerging professionals, and contribute to resilient infrastructure that supports public health and long-term community growth.
What You'll Do
- Provide advanced judgement and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
- Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues in vital infrastructure
- Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable and cost-effective solutions
- Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
- Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience required
- Linear design experience (distribution and collection systems) or water treatment or wastewater treatment process experience required
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range
$87,000 - $95,000
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
