Overview
Intelligent Waves is seeking a highly skilled and mission-focused Cybersecurity Analyst to support critical operations for our government customer at Fort Meade, Maryland.
The Cybersecurity Analyst will serve as a technical subject matter expert, providing cybersecurity analysis, risk management, and information assurance support across complex mission environments. This role supports requirements analysis, Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) planning and execution, system assessments and hardening, incident response activities, policy analysis, trusted product evaluations, IA program assessments, and overall security posture improvements.
The Cybersecurity Analyst will support the development, review, and submission of Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation in compliance with RMF requirements. The ideal candidate will leverage technical expertise to evaluate system and application security risks, assess cybersecurity impacts, and provide actionable recommendations to engineers, stakeholders, and senior decision-makers.
Location: This Cybersecurity Analyst position is based at Fort Meade, Maryland. Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time and will be reimbursed based on IW policy, GSA Per Diem rates and DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) as required.
Clearance Requirement: The Cybersecurity Analyst must be a United States citizen and hold a current DoD Secret security clearance or higher. Compensation Range: $119,500.00---$126,000.00

Responsibilities
Systems Administration & Infrastructure Support
- Administer, maintain, and secure enterprise Windows and Linux environments, including Windows Server, Windows 11, Active Directory, RHEL, patching, software updates, system hardening, and DISA STIG implementation.
- Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot virtualization technologies, NAS/SAN storage solutions, and supporting infrastructure within secure DoD environments.
Identity & Access Management
- Manage Active Directory services including user/computer administration, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), authentication, PKI certificates, and smart card access.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Perform cybersecurity compliance activities including SCAP scans, ACAS/Tenable vulnerability assessments, remediation tracking, POA&M management, RMF documentation, and eMASS updates.
- Support classified, multi-domain, and air-gapped environments, including SIPR operations with limited external connectivity.
Automation & Enterprise Technologies
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, and Group Policy to improve system administration, security compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Support containerized applications and operational technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, F5, PostgreSQL, Apache, Prisma, and similar enterprise solutions.
Operational Support & Collaboration
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to troubleshoot complex issues, improve system performance, mitigate risks, and maintain mission readiness.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, plus a minimum of five (5) years of relevant technical experience.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher is required (must have at time of application).
- Experience supporting compliance and regulatory requirements within secure enterprise environments.
Systems Administration & Infrastructure
- Experience administering Linux environments, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including system patching, hardening, STIG implementation, STIG checklist generation, and SCAP automation.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory administration, including Group Policy (GPOs), authentication, user/computer management, PKI, certificates, and smart card authentication.
- Experience administering Synology storage arrays, including storage provisioning, permissions management, backups, and system maintenance.
- Experience supporting Docker and Kubernetes containerized environments.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Experience supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, including maintaining security documentation within eMASS.
- Experience deploying, executing, and analyzing vulnerability scans using ACAS, Tenable Nessus, and Tenable Security Center.
Automation & Scripting
- Experience developing automation solutions using Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, and Group Policy.

- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create clear and accurate technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while demonstrating initiative, professionalism, and sound judgment.
