Overview
We are hiring a Service Cashier! This key customer-facing role is responsible for finalizing service transactions, supporting the service department by accurately processing payments, coordinating with service advisors, and ensuring a smooth, positive checkout experience.
Responsibilities
- Always maintain confidentiality of company and customer information
- Inspect service repair orders and parts invoices for accuracy and completeness
- Reconcile repair orders and ensure proper documentation
- Calculate charges for materials, labor, taxes, and warranty as applicable
- Collect payments (cash, check, or authorized charge) and provide receipts/change
- Document charge purchases per office policies
- Complete accounting sections of repair orders as directed
- Accumulate and submit all closed repair orders and invoices daily
- Handle and account for daily cash transactions
- Return customer keys upon payment and direct them to their vehicles
- Answer service department calls, transfer appropriately, and take messages when needed
Qualifications
- Proven customer service experience required, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Accounting, cashiering, or related financial transaction experience is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor
- Professional appearance and a strong commitment to excellence
- Positive attitude with a high level of energy and enthusiasm
- Self-motivated, dependable, and proactive in completing tasks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions and payments
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with service advisors and other dealership staff
