DLO Electrician
Job description
We are working closely with Southern Housing to assist with the appointment of a DLO Electrician , on a 3-month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £19.30 - £25.47 per hour
Summary
A qualified Electrician is required to deliver responsive repairs, maintenance, inspections, and testing services across residential properties. The role involves carrying out electrical installations, fault finding, inspections, portable appliance testing, and ensuring all work complies with current regulations while providing excellent customer service. Participation in an Out of Hours rota is required.
Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, installations, inspections, and testing across residential properties.
- Complete electrical surveys, fault finding, portable appliance testing (PAT), and produce accurate reports.
- Ensure all work complies with current wiring regulations, health & safety requirements, and company standards.
- Respond to emergency and planned maintenance works, including participation in the Out of Hours service.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service while working safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent City & Guilds qualification) with AM2.
- City & Guilds 2391 or 2395 Inspection & Testing.
- City & Guilds 2382-18/20 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
Essentials
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points and a minimum of 2 years' driving experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical maintenance and installation.
- Strong knowledge of electrical testing, inspections, and fault finding.
- Experience working in responsive repairs, maintenance, or social housing is desirable.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
