As we deliver our ambitious 2030 Growth Strategy, we’re looking for a Process Safety Specialist, responsible for managing the implementation and maintenance of the Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management programs in accordance with OSHA/EPA regulations. This position will ensure that the Site conforms to PSM standards and directives established by Group SHE. The Process Safety Specialist is directly responsible for Employee Participation, Process Hazard Analysis, Pre-startup Safety Review, Management of Change, & Compliance Auditing portions of the program.
Who We’re Looking For
· BS in Chemical Engineering preferred.
· Designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
· 5-7 years of experience in safety/health position.
· 7-10 years in a chemical process industry.
· 3-5 years of experience working on PSM compliance.
· Wide experience of working in the Chemical Industry.
· Experience of working within Process Safety Consultancy.
· Skilled in the use of techniques to analyze reaction kinetics and to conduct pressure relief calculations.
· Skilled in the use of Quantified Risk Assessment and similar techniques.
· Skilled in the use of modelling software packages e.g., PHAST High work standards.
· Self-motivated and able to work with little line management direction.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Manage the implementation and maintenance of the facility’s process safety management program, in accordance with OSHA and Croda’s regulations.
· Conduct Process Hazard Analyses, develop study report and manage Corrective Action Plans.
· Conduct Pre-Startup Safety Reviews of new and modified equipment.
· Develop policies and manage the change process at the Site.
· Conduct Process Safety Management Compliance Audits at least every 3 years; develop and manage Corrective Action Plan.
· Provide expertise, knowledge, and direction to individuals responsible for various Process Safety Management programs.
· Develop and distribute site PSM reports and complete required quarterly reports for group SHE.
· Maintain and submit the facility’s Risk Management Plan to the EPA.
· Develop facility’s Prevention Program, as required by the EPA.
· Ensure that overlapping PSM elements meet the requirements of RMP.
· Enforce SHE principles and policies in the facility.
· Provide expertise where needed for facility SHE initiatives.
