POSITION SUMMARY 

KIPP Jacksonville seeks a Senior Manager of Secondary Math who will serve as the instructional leader for mathematics across grades 6–12 throughout the KIPP Jacksonville region. This role furthers our mission by leading the implementation, continuous improvement, and strategic development of high-quality secondary mathematics curriculum and instruction. The Senior Manager of Secondary Math ensures that all students in grades 6–12 experience standards-aligned, rigorous, engaging, and culturally responsive mathematics instruction that prepares them for success in advanced coursework, college, and career.

The Senior Manager of Secondary Math is an engaging facilitator who partners closely with school leaders, instructional coaches, and teachers to strengthen mathematics instruction across middle and high school. This leader designs and facilitates high-impact professional learning, leads data-driven conversations around student achievement, models exemplary instructional practices, coaches educators, and provides targeted support to ensure strong curriculum implementation and instructional excellence.

Success in this role will be measured by the quality and fidelity of 6–12 mathematics curriculum implementation, improvements in instructional practice, and student achievement outcomes in secondary mathematics. The Senior Manager of Secondary Math is a full-time, senior manager-level position that reports to the Director of Math. As a member of the Shared Services Academic Team, this individual will collaborate across schools and departments to ensure every student develops the mathematical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and confidence needed to thrive in high school, postsecondary education, and beyond.

This is a year-round position that performs duties as assigned by the Director of Math. Typical work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, hours may vary based on the needs of the role, school schedules, and organizational priorities.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Collaborate with regional and school-based leaders to develop and refine a horizontally and vertically aligned K-12 math framework

  • Develop and facilitate region-wide professional development for teachers in order to build our teachers’ and leaders’ capacity with math content, planning, and instructional execution

  • Support the Director of Math to oversee the full implementation of identified math curricula in grade bands 6-12.

  • Create and revise regional curriculum calendars in collaboration with the academic team and schools

  • Ensure alignment of curriculum to standards and state assessments

  • Serve as a liaison to school-based content leads by running regional department meetings and teacher content teams

  • Analyze regional data in collaboration with regional and school-based leadership to identify areas of need, and support the facilitation of region-wide instructional initiatives that lead us to our goals

  • Monitor any math lab specials at the schools.

  • Monitor and evaluate school-based intervention and instructional technology programs related to math

  • Conduct regular instructional reviews of math-based instruction in partnership with school based leadership teams

  • Serve as a model teacher and assist as needed in the classroom setting

  • Provide coaching as needed to teachers and school-based content leaders, to include creating exemplar lessons and development with internalization of lesson plans, and practice of instructional delivery

  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least four (4) years of relevant teaching experience in K-12 math

  • Evidence of leading or influencing other adults through a teacher-leader, coaching, or administrative role (grade level chair, content chair, department chair, professional development facilitator, coach, assistant principal, etc.) 

  • Florida teaching certificate in relevant area or equivalent (Math 6-12)

  • Demonstrated strong student achievement results in science

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with teaching math in Florida in a tested/assessed grade level

  • Prior experience as an instructional coach or content specialist 

  • Experience with Eureka curriculum

  • Relevant Master’s degree

  • The salary offered in the DocuSign doesn’t include any stipends for which the candidate may be eligible. In our current year of paying out millage stipends, certified New-to-KIPP instructional staff received a historical average of $11,000 with the addition of receiving TSIA stipends. There are other opportunities to earn money at KIPP Jax in the form of additional stipends. This role will only be eligible for instructional stipends if they have their FLDOE certification.
