Port Captain

• Key Responsibilities: Oversee all port operations, including vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and port maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
• Develop and implement procedures to optimize port operations and improve efficiency. –
• Monitor vessel movements and coordinate with port authorities to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
• Manage a team of port staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
• Conduct regular inspections of port facilities and equipment to identify and address any maintenance or safety issues.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate the movement of cargo and ensure timely delivery to clients.
• Maintain accurate records of all port activities, including vessel movements, cargo handling, and port expenses.
• Prepare reports and presentations on port operations for management and stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry developments and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Qualification and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a port or shipping company.
• Strong knowledge of port operations, vessel handling, and cargo handling procedures.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software. – Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
