About the Job

The Commercial Service Manager acts as the critical bridge between Service Owners and Finance at Allianz Technology. This role ensures mutual understanding of commercial and financial objectives, translates operational service data into financial insights, and drives transparency, accountability, and alignment across both domains.

What you do

  • Act as the key interface between Service Owners and Finance, ensuring mutual understanding of commercial and financial objectives, translating service performance data into financial insights and vice versa, and facilitating regular financial reviews to drive cost awareness, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure alignment between service contracts/SLAs and their financial implications (pricing, margins, cost recovery), provide financial guidance to Service Owners on business cases, investment decisions and cost optimisation opportunities, and perform cost-benefit analyses and business case evaluations to support investment and pricing decisions.
  • Manage and develop commercial service activities in alignment with Allianz Technology's business strategy and objectives, support the development and execution of commercial strategies to drive growth, efficiency and customer satisfaction, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment across business areas.
  • Monitor service performance against agreed KPIs and link them to financial outcomes (cost efficiency, margin, budget adherence), oversee cost allocation variances and profitability across service lines driving corrective actions where needed, and challenge and validate cost allocations and service charges ensuring transparency and fairness across business units.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes in close collaboration with Service Owners ensuring financial plans reflect operational realities, conduct monthly and quarterly financial closing activities including accruals, reconciliations and management reporting, and develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and scenario analysis.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on commercial performance, financial status and key insights to senior leadership, ensure compliance with internal financial policies, accounting standards (e.g. IFRS/HGB) and regulatory requirements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial processes, tools and ways of working.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders acting as a trusted point of contact for commercial and financial matters, and partner with business owners to drive cost transparency, accountability and financial discipline.

What you bring

  • Ability to "speak both languages" — understanding service delivery as well as financial controlling principles, with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to engage effectively at all levels, particularly between technical/operational and finance teams; experience working in a matrix organisation bridging operational and finance functions is a strong plus.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen with experience managing service-oriented activities, an analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate it into clear recommendations for diverse audiences, and a proactive, structured approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a commercial, service management, financial controlling, or related role, with a solid understanding of financial controlling, budgeting and management accounting principles, and hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting in a service-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and financial reporting tools, strong proficiency in Excel/financial modelling and data visualisation (e.g. Power BI, Tableau), and the ability to identify opportunities to apply digital tools in commercial and service contexts to drive efficiency.
  • Understanding of cost allocation models, transfer pricing or intercompany charging mechanisms; experience in cost centre management, transfer pricing or intercompany accounting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, HGB or other relevant accounting standards, ensuring compliance with applicable financial frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and GenAI platforms is a strong advantage.
