Job description
Looking for a dedicated and experienced Discipline Support Officer (DSO) to support the holistic development, discipline, and well-being of secondary school students (Sec 1–5).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary investigations and prepare incident reports.
- Supervise recess, lunch, and detention sessions.
- Guide students through reflection, restitution, and restorative practices.
- Support in-house suspension programmes and student re-entry.
- Patrol school grounds and provide proactive campus supervision.
- Build positive relationships with students while maintaining discipline.
- Work closely with teachers and the Student Management Committee.
Requirements
- Preferably 10+ years' experience in the Police Force, Singapore Prison Service, or other uniformed services.
- Experience in youth engagement, investigations, behavioural support, or restorative practices is an advantage.
- Strong conflict management, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Calm, professional, fair, and able to engage students with empathy and respect.
- Committed to confidentiality and student development.
Duration/Working hours
1 year contractd (Aug 2026 to Aug 2027)
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours during the school term : Days Hours No. of hours Mondays 0930 – 1630 7 hr Tuesdays 1030 – 1730 7 hr Wednesdays 0930 – 1630 7 hr Thursdays 1030 – 1730 7 hr Fridays 0800– 1230 4.5 hr
Service not required on Selected Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays and school holidays (eg Youth Day)
The actual termly work schedule would be advised according to the prevailing school time
