Job description
Summary
The OTR driver position requires operating heavy commercial vehicles (such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, or tankers) across regional and national routes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely navigate long-distance commercial routes to deliver cargo to specified locations on schedule
- Ensure load securing equipment is maintained properly
- Perform mandatory pre-trip and post-trip mechanical and safety checks on the tractor/trailer.
- Maintain electronic logging device (ELD) tracking of working hours, driving distance, fuel stops, and federally mandated rest breaks
- Maintain constant, clear contact with dispatch regarding delays, mechanical faults, and delivery statuses
- Understand and comply with company, customer, and health/safety policies, and any other regulations that are required
- Reports any and all incidents immediately
- Able to work and drive in all weather conditions
- Performs other duties as directed by management
Required Skills
- Knowledge of load permits and state and federal truck driving regulations
- Knowledge of and ability to safely secure loads for transport
- Must possess organizational and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs. and handle physically demanding work
- Must be able to communicate using oral and basic written communication
- Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol screening and participate in the random testing pool
- Must pass a background check and motor vehicle record check
- Arrange for reliable transportation to and from work

Work Environment
This job requires extended travel and requires night driving, some weekend shifts and driving through extreme seasonal weather changes.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work as job duties demand
Licenses & Certifications
- Class A CDL required
- No recent major moving violations, license suspensions, or DUI offenses within the past 3 to 5 years
- Must pass Department of Transportation physical medical exam along with mandatory drug and alcohol screenings
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous winch experience preferred
