Position Summary
HASI is seeking an experienced legal operations and transactional paralegal to both lead the implementation of our legal tech buildout and to support our in-house team on complex corporate and project-based transactions within the renewable energy and infrastructure space. This role is ideal for someone who brings strong tech implementation skills, transactional rigor, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, business-driven environment. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted partner to the legal team and internal stakeholders, delivering value through legal ops modernization and supporting transactions with a high level of ownership and accountability.
Salary Range
Expected salary range of $140,000 – $170,000, based on experience and location. Responsibilities
Own organization-wide implementation and utilization of legal contract lifecycle management software, including both repository management and workflow administration, along with any related integrations, to streamline legal department efficiency and effective records management. Own the management and optimization of legal e-billing software, along with outside counsel engagement, evaluation and matter/timekeeper administration. Own the entity formation and registration maintenance process across a complex multi-entity and multi-jurisdictional corporate footprint. Own the management of the UCC database, including preparing and filing UCC financing statements, amendments, and related documentation. Support in-house counsel on corporate, financing, and project-related transactions in the renewable energy and infrastructure sector. Manage transaction workflows from diligence through closing and post-closing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal requirements. Draft, review, and coordinate execution of transactional and corporate documentation, including signature coordination and closing deliverables. Own closing mechanics, including tracking conditions precedent, verifying satisfaction of closing requirements, and coordinating with internal and external parties. Coordinate post-closing activities, including permit and license transfers and preparation of final closing binders and records. Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, and Compliance to support business objectives and transaction timelines. Proactively identify issues, manage competing priorities, and exercise judgment to resolve matters efficiently or escalate when appropriate. Other duties that may be assigned to further support the legal team.
Qualifications
10+ years of transactional paralegal experience, including both prior law firm and prior in-house experience 5+ years of experience in a legal operations capacity in a law firm or in-house setting Prior experience with successful implementation of contract lifecycle management software, including the buildout of automated document workflows and construction of a document repository, preferably in conjunction with an integration to Salesforce Experience supporting corporate, project finance, or other commercial transactions Proven ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attorneys, clients, and business partners High level of attention to detail and accountability Solid understanding of transactional legal principles and documentation standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe and any of iManage, Ironclad, Luminance or another CLM
