Job Overview
The Shipboard Welder will provide essential installation and welding support for various RF, audio, video, and communication systems. This role reports to the Installation Group Project Manager.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
• Collaborate with Task Leaders, project managers, and SMEs to assist in the shipboard installation and integration of complex audio-visual displays and various communication systems.
• Support the installation of electronic warfare systems and related systems onboard naval ships and command centers worldwide.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Accountable For:
• Having experience and familiarity with work in industrial environments, including shipyards and governmental sites.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• High School diploma required.
• Willing to travel up to 75% CONUS/OCONUS.
• Availability for extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Experience in welding steel and aluminum.
• Prior experience in a shipyard environment.
• Capability to layout and perform structural modifications based on technical documentation.
• Willingness to perform installation tasks beyond welding, such as cable installation and equipment handling.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
Preferred:
• Experience with brazing copper-nickel pipe and oxy-fuel torch operation.
• CPR and first aid training.
• Confined space training certification.
• Climber safety training.
Working Conditions:
• Full-time position supporting the Chugach integration and installation team.
• Work is based in industrial areas including shipyards and military bases, with potential for both shipboard and shore site locations.
• Exposure to industrial hazards; work environment may involve heights, cutting, and welding.
• Work may be conducted outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 45 lbs and climb vertical ladders.
• Capability to operate heavy machinery safely.
• Willingness to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to kneel, crawl, and crouch as required at work sites.
• Capability to safely evacuate a ship in an emergency.
