Job Overview
As a Welder, you will provide essential day-to-day installation and welding support for a variety of RF, audio, video, and communication systems on naval ships. This position reports directly to the Installation Group Project Manager. Please note that this job posting is ongoing, and we welcome resumes at any time, even if there are currently no openings.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
• Collaborate with Task Leaders, program/project managers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to:
• Assist with the shipboard installation and integration of complex audio-visual displays
• Support various communication and electronic warfare systems
• Work on related ancillary and computer-based systems on naval ships and command centers worldwide
• Perform other duties as assigned
Accountable For:
• We expect you to have experience in industrial environments such as shipyards and Naval/Coast Guard bases, as well as various government subcontractor sites.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% CONUS/OCONUS.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are a must.
• Experience welding steel and aluminum.
• Experience in a shipyard environment is essential.
• Ability to read SIDs and ICDs for performing structural modifications and installing foundations.
• Willingness to perform additional installation tasks such as cable installation, priming, lagging, painting, and managing equipment/materials loading and unloading.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
Preferred:
• Experience with brazing copper nickel pipe and Oxy Fuel torch operation.
• CPR and first aid training certification.
• Confined space training.
• Climber safety training.
Working Conditions:
• This is a full-time position supporting the Chugach integration and installation tasking team lead. The work will take place in various industrial environments, including shipyards, Navy/Coast Guard bases, shipboard locations, and shore sites.
• Work might be conducted in industrial environments with potential hazards causing bodily harm, cuts, and burns.
• Outdoor work may be required in varying weather conditions.
• Welding and cutting of metal will be part of job duties.
• Work at heights (aloft) will necessitate fall protection equipment.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift at least 45 lbs and operate heavy machinery safely.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• Requires kneeling, crawling, and maneuvering through confined spaces.
• Must safely evacuate from a ship in case of an emergency.
