Budget Analyst

Global Science & Technology, Inc (GST), a growing scientific and high technology company, is seeking an experienced Budget Analyst to support of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Budget analysis experience is required; cloud and in particular AWS knowledge is highly desired.

This position is located in Silver Spring, MD, but is approved for a hybrid model of onsite and telework.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will be a team player and function well working across multiple areas and on a variety budget task.

Responsibilities include

• Monitor budgets and perform in-depth analyses to advise senior leadership on financial actions
• Create and maintain interactive financial dashboard summaries for daily reporting
• Perform monthly spend plan reconciliation and provide variance explanation
• Support monthly program status reviews with detailed charts
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Good time management
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and highly organized
• Competency with Microsoft and Google product suites
• Smartsheet experience is highly desirable
• Experience developing and managing project and action trackers

Required Education/Experience/Skills

• BA or BS Degree with a minimum of four years of budget analysis experience
• Prior government experience is a plus
• Experience with forecasting spreadsheets
