Under close supervision of Supervisor - Customer Service Control Center, the Customs Brokerage Specialist is responsible for assisting brokerage department within World Courier with managing Ok to Send process, ensuring accuracy in clearance charges control, and coordinating with customers, internal and external partners to support various steps of the customs clearance process.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the OK to Send process: review documentation completeness and ensure compliance with customs regulations before dispatch

• Identify risks (e.g., missing data, classification/valuation questions, regulatory restrictions) and escalate with recommended actions

• Coordinate with various parties including World Courier gateway brokers, outside "gateway" offices, client specific brokers for the facilitation of customs clearance

• Communicate with clients regarding the status of shipments and provide support on various steps of the process

• Review, control, and reconcile clearance-related charges (e.g., duties/taxes, brokerage fees, disbursements) and ensure correct billing allocation

• Ensure accurate shipment status data entry and maintenance in internal transport management systems

• Run and generate internal department reports and client specific reports

• Support compliance by understanding and following SOPs and internal communications alongside maintaining relevant records

• Actively collaborate with internal and external departments to resolve issues

• Contribute to continuous improvement by making suggestions to improve existing processes, efficiency and consistency of performance in the department

Education:

• Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, international business or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a three or four-year bachelor’s degree program, technical vocational training or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Work Experience:

• Minimum one year directly related experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Experience in customs brokerage or importer environment would be an advantage

• Working knowledge of customs clearance fundamentals: documentation, INCOTERMS awareness, duties/taxes concepts, and broker workflows

• Fluency in English

• Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate information is provided

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

• Strong problem solving, analytical and investigative skills to bring issues to resolution

• Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues and other World Courier offices

Working hours:

Monday-Friday 09:00 to 18:00 (1 hour of lunch included)
