Meet the Team

At Cisco, you will join a collaborative environment designed to help you grow and begin building your career. As a Technical Sales Intern, you will be part of a nationwide cohort participating in a shared learning and professional development experience. Through cohort sessions, team projects, networking opportunities, and volunteer activities, you will build relationships with fellow interns while gaining exposure to teams across Cisco. Throughout the program, you will also learn from experienced Solutions Engineers, sales leaders, and executives through training sessions, mentorship, and technical discussions.

Your Impact

As a Technical Sales Intern, you will gain insight into how Cisco’s technical sales teams help customers solve complex business challenges with technology. Solutions Engineers combine technical expertise with business insight to design and position solutions while serving as trusted technical advisors to customers and partners. During the internship, you will gain exposure to how Cisco teams research customer environments, demonstrate technologies, and guide opportunities through technical validation and close.

In This Role You May

  • Demonstrate how AI-enabled tools and research techniques help technical sellers understand customer environments, identify use cases, and plan solution strategies that improve seller productivity
  • Learn how Solutions Engineers position Cisco’s portfolio across areas such as AI infrastructure, security, networking, collaboration, and cloud while understanding competitive differentiation
  • Build foundational skills in technical demos, whiteboarding, and solution storytelling used to communicate complex technologies
  • Observe customer discussions, product demonstrations, and internal technical strategy sessions
  • Gain exposure to how technical sellers guide opportunities through technical validation and technical close
  • Deliver presentations to account teams and sales leaders, sharing insights and recommendations from your research and project work.

Upon completion of the program, interns may be invited to interview for full-time opportunities within the Cisco Sales Associates Program, which provides a structured pathway into roles such as Solutions Engineer and other technical sales positions.

Minimum Qualifications

This internship is a 10-week structured program beginning June 8th. Due to the cohort-based nature of the program, including training sessions, collaborative projects, and presentations, interns are expected to commit to the full duration of the program. Candidates should plan to be fully available during the internship period and avoid scheduling personal travel or extended time away.

You May Be a Strong Fit If You

  • Are a rising senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or currently participating in a relevant certification program, community college program, workforce development program, or other career-focused training path
  • Are studying or have experience in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Have working knowledge of AI tools, AI-assisted workflows, or emerging AI technologies
  • Enjoy learning new technologies and understanding how systems, platforms, and architectures work together
  • Thrive in collaborative team environments, while also demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Show initiative, curiosity, and self-motivation when approaching new challenges
