IV Sterile Compounding Long Term Care Pharmacy Technician in Rocky Mount, VA

A pharmacy technician position is available in a Long-Term Care (LTC) mail order pharmacy environment, operating on a rotating shift schedule. This 13-week contract-to-hire role offers the opportunity to apply specialized skills in prescription processing, sterile compounding, and IV admixture preparation under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

Location: Rocky Mount, VA

Schedule: Rotating shifts including

• 7:00 am 3:30 pm
• 8:00 am 4:30 pm
• 10:00 am 6:30 pm
• 12:30 pm 9:00 pm

Rotating weekends: 8:00 am 7:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately fill prescriptions and prepare IV admixtures and sterile compounds in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to enter prescription data and assist in reimbursement processes.
• Assist Pharmacists in verifying and packaging prescriptions to ensure accurate and timely delivery to customers.
• Help maintain proper inventory control including receiving, rotating stock, recording lot numbers and expiration dates, and supporting physical inventories.
• Support management in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained work environment, including equipment calibration and safety checks.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Valid Virginia Pharmacy Technician License required.
• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician with knowledge of prescription filling and pharmacy operations.
• Long-Term Care pharmacy experience is a strong plus.
• Experience preparing IV admixtures and sterile compounding preferred.
