cBEYONData + SMX is looking for a talented Senior Data Scientist to enhance our Modernized Data Science Platform for a Federal client. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of junior developers to deliver robust solutions for our clients.
- Design innovative solutions with Databricks (Python, Pyspark) to meet business functional requirements.
- Analyze and modify existing data models as necessary.
- Promote code into production through Gitlab.
- Define and verify test cases to ensure that solutions function as intended.
- Create data models and insightful reports using data from ERPs and legacy systems.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Willingness to work 2 days per week on-site at the Taylor Building in Crystal City.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience leading junior developers to deliver capabilities on multiple projects.
- At least 5 years of hands-on development experience and expertise in Python and Pyspark.
- Familiarity with Databricks, including data pipelines and workflow automation.
- Experience with Dev/Ops and CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab.
- Understanding of Army functional knowledge with proven experience in requirements elicitation and analysis.
- Knowledge in database design and architecture, both relational and non-relational.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and actively engage in discussions.
- Familiarity with cloud architecture, particularly with commercial cloud vendors (AWS/Azure).
- Competence with software engineering tools and processes such as estimation, issue tracking, and debugging.
- Proven ability to work independently and efficiently manage assigned tasks.
- Experience in knowledge sharing, including conducting code reviews and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
- Driven, self-directed personality with a strong sense of mission.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience implementing RESTful APIs.
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to foster positive collaboration among diverse teams.
- Prior experience working with the DoD is a plus.
- Experience working with GFEBS or other SAP ERP systems is desirable.

The salary range for this role is $125,000 - $180,000 USD, determined by geographic location, experience, and qualifications.
