Position Overview

Your core responsibility is to confidently integrate Ansible with Terraform, establishing a consistent infrastructure-as-code (IaC) deployment process across hybrid environments. You will codify infrastructure, security, and governance to ensure high availability and repeatability. Working alongside engineering and security teams, you will implement best practices that enhance overall system reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Fostering the design, engineering, automation, provisioning, implementation, management and scaling of Microsoft server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux – powered cloud operating environments and infrastructure using Ansible Playbooks and Cloud Modules.
  • Implement and enforce best practices for cloud security, risk management, and compliance.
  • Conduct continuous security testing and code reviews to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to architectural designs, technical documentation, and provide engineering solutions aimed at enhancing security and user accessibility while keeping abreast of industry changes to cloud-based security technologies, tools, and industry best practices to inform managerial decisions and advise functional teams on updated secure coding practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design end-to-end automation workflows that combine Ansible’s configuration management with Terraform’ s infrastructure provisioning to facilitate scalable, repeatable, and secure deployments and provide assistance, training, and mentoring to other engineers as the Automation SME.

Qualifications

  • Must have a current DoD 8570.1/8140 IAT/M Level III certification
  • Cloud, Automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) certificates/training may be required within 6 months of starting
  • Mastery of Dev Sec Ops principles, demonstrated through expertise in securing and managing code repositories (e.g., Bitbucket, Git Hub) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure Dev Ops)
  • Proven experience designing and deploying cloud infrastructure and containerized workloads using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and best practices (Terraform, Bicep)
  • Proficiency in the Hashi Corp ecosystem, including leveraging Nomad for container orchestration and Consul for service discovery and mesh networking
  • Proven track record of deploying Configuration as Code (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) to extend CI/CD (e.g., Azure Dev Ops) functionality, ensuring standardized server configurations and essential security hardening following infrastructure creation
  • Professional-level Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Network, Storage, or Cloud certifications
  • Previous experience in regulated environments (e.g., financial, healthcare, or government).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions, or Jenkins
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodologies for iterative network project management
  • Proven experience in virtualized environments (e.g., Azure, VMware NSX). #J-18808-Ljbffr
