Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director for Development of Sports Competition & Event Venues. This leadership role is critical to the successful planning, design, development and execution of world-class sports and event venues within the Qiddiya entertainment city, aimed at fostering a dynamic and vibrant sports ecosystem. The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of development for sports competition and event venues, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet international standards. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to drive innovation and operational excellence across venue planning, construction, and activation. Responsibilities Lead the strategic development, planning, and execution of sports competition and event venues within Qiddiya. Oversee project delivery including design, construction, commissioning, and integration with broader destination elements. Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and sports governing bodies to ensure venues meet functional and regulatory requirements. Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to deliver high-quality venues. Ensure compliance with international sports standards and best practices, promoting safety and accessibility. Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including sports federations, event organizers, and government entities. Drive innovation in venue design and operations to enhance fan experience and operational efficiency. Provide leadership to project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with corporate goals. Report regularly to senior management on project progress, risks, and opportunities.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Sports Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). At least 20-25 years of experience in sports venue development, construction management, or related project leadership roles. Proven track record in delivering large-scale sports competition venues on time and within budget. Strong knowledge of international sports standards, regulations, and best practices. Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams. Exceptional project management capabilities including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Experience working with sports federations, event organizers, and governmental agencies is highly desirable.
