The office of Joël Godin, Conservative Member of Parliament for Portneuf-Jacques-Cartier, is seeking an Executive Assistant for his constituency office. The successful candidate will report to the Member of Parliament and provide a wide range of executive and administrative support services to the MP and his staff. The role involves serving as a key operational strategist who advances and facilitates the achievement of the MP’s key objectives and priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide various administrative and operational services to the Member of Parliament and their staff to ensure the smooth running of operations.
  • Screen incoming calls, respond to requests for general information, and refer callers to other resources as needed.
  • Format complex administrative documents and draft official letters and other correspondence, including presentations, reports, memos, forms, and minutes to be distributed to internal and external clients.
  • Perform basic accounting tasks.
  • Participate in special projects and perform all other related duties as required by the position.

The ideal candidate has excellent organizational skills, the ability to provide outstanding customer service, and an unmatched attention to detail. The candidate can effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously and is capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Salary: Salary is determined based on qualifications and work experience.

Start date: As soon as possible

Education:

  • Post-secondary credentials from an educational institution OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Experiences: 

  • Work experience in an office setting, in a receptionist or administrative support role.
  • Knowledge of administrative methods, techniques, and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills and strong written command of French grammar.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and financial management.
  • Tact, diplomacy, strict confidentiality, and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external clients.
