Job description
We are seeking a Data Scientist to collaborate with a broader team comprising Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Pricing Managers, and business stakeholders. Together, they will deliver a pricing optimisation process in AWS. The Data Scientist will concentrate on developing and implementing a financial model based on UK mortgage time series data.
You will have strong experience in building solutions using a variety of open-source tools and exposure to Python, Spark, NLP, Transformers and a proven track record in delivering high-quality work to tight deadlines.
The successful candidate will work on a wide range of projects across both traditional AI techniques (e.g. machine learning, predictive modelling, and NLP) and the latest advances in multimodal large language models, including those for image, video, and text generation or understanding.
The role will require a data scientist with excellent communication skills, that is willing to continuously learn and listen. Creative problem solving and a keen understanding of how predictive analytics can be leveraged in business processes are a must. We’re looking for a data scientist that is inherently curious, driven, willing to learn & develop, with an owning the problem and self-starter attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Modeling:
Build predictive and prescriptive models for financial forecasting and risk analysis.
Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to optimize decision-making.
AWS Integration:
Utilize AWS services (SageMaker, Glue, Redshift, Lambda) for model development and deployment.
Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient.
Data Engineering & Processing:
Perform data wrangling, cleansing, and feature engineering on large datasets.
Develop robust ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured financial data.
Collaboration & Communication:
Partner with cross-functional teams to align models with business objectives.
Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders clearly and effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications
3-5+ years of strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
Hands-on experience with AWS services for data science workflows.
Solid understanding of financial principles and quantitative analysis.
Proven ability to deliver end-to-end data science projects in production environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
Knowledge of visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
Experience with MLOps and model monitoring in production.
