Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient professional to join our team as a Purchase & Product Specialist for IoT Hardware and Software. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring IoT hardware components, systems, and associated software and licenses.
You will collaborate closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional technical teams to ensure the timely evaluation, selection, and procurement of high-quality products that meet organizational standards and project requirements. The role demands strong technical expertise in IoT devices such as Cameras, RFID readers and antennas, LiDAR, radar systems, telematics devices, and related software and licenses as well as robust supplier evaluation capabilities aligned with global procurement standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and procure IoT hardware components such as cameras, RFID readers and antennas, LiDAR, radar systems, telematics devices, and related software and licenses.
- Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of products and prepare Decision Analysis and Resolution (DAR) to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and business requirements.
- Conduct thorough assessments & curation of software & IoT products.
- Identify, assess, and onboard suppliers in line with global standards, ensuring capability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work closely with engineering, product, and project teams to understand technical needs and translate them into procurement strategies.
- Drive product and supplier selection and support contracting processes in collaboration with procurement and legal teams.
- Establish and implement efficient procurement processes, tools, and systems to improve sourcing effectiveness and transparency.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and cost optimization.
- Stay updated on emerging IoT technologies, market trends, and supplier landscape.
- Coordinate with legal and Product teams to review and finalize vendor contracts and agreements.
- Monitor software license compliance and ensure adherence to usage policies.
- Evaluate product/solutions for Scalability.
- Monitor market trends, technology advancements, and regulatory changes related to IoT hardware and Software/License, Data Privacy Acts and advise management on potential impacts.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
Desired Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & communication, or Mechanical Engineering with 5-8 years of experience in IoT Product domain
- Strong technical knowledge of IoT hardware (e.g., cameras, RFID systems, LiDAR, radar, telematics) and associated software ecosystems.
- Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or product evaluation within the IoT or electronics domain.
- Ability to perform both technical and commercial evaluations of products and suppliers.
- Familiarity with global supplier evaluation standards and contracting processes.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in implementing procurement processes and systems is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of IoT technologies, including sensors, embedded systems, connectivity protocols, and hardware platforms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Expertise on relevant procurement software and SAP
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong knowledge on Platform Business models
- Experience in Electronics, Telecommunication & Service Supplier Assessment & Release process
