Job Summary:

Rakuten Rewards Canada is seeking an experienced Senior Graphic Designer with proven work in digital media. You will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Graphic Design and collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales and Product. As a driven and passionate creative professional, you possess a sharp eye in composition, layout, typography, photography, and exceptional attention to detail. You will help mentor Junior Designers on the Graphic Design team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Concept and execute creative assets while working cross-functionally with many teams across the organization, such as Marketing, Web Development, Social, Product

  • Create flawless executions

  • Gather, prepare, and present conceptual ideas

  • Design with clear ideation through typography, color, texture, spacing, scale and outstanding use of graphic skills

  • Review final designs. Ensure assets meet established design standards and are ready to be consumer facing

  • Provide ideas that influence, increase and enhance the Rakuten brand

  • Initiate and drive industry best practices

  • Demonstrate knowledge of channel design and implementing best in class channel specific content

  • Create presentations that effectively communicate vision and goals. Communicate/present concepts to design leads and executives

  • Assist team during high volume periods with production of assets

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess a strong portfolio of creative executions

  • High proficiency in: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience in Adobe After Effects

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Experience designing within the retail/ecommerce space (Native Mobile App as well as responsive web)

  • Demonstrates a passion for continuous learning and improvement

  • Willing to learn, implement and share A.I. prompting techniques to enhance workflow

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment and prioritize work to achieve timelines

  • Product experience creating user journeys, wireframes, and information architecture. Experience with facilitating or supporting user research, with an understanding of various research methods and how/when they are applied is an asset

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of Graphic Design work experience

  • Graduated an accredited 3-4 year Design Program

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the Compensation (base salary + discretionary bonus) for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for stock options, health, vision, dental insurance, RRSP matching, Personal Time Off (PTO), Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
