Overview
Performs a multitude of general mechanical maintenance tasks such as replaces ceiling tiles and light bulbs, installs a various number of product dispensers and is also responsible for minor carpentry repairs to wall protection, corner guards, cove base or baseboards and minor floor repairs. Light Equipment Mechanic will make repairs to furniture and move furniture, repair wheel chairs, hang clocks and other wall hangings.
What you will do
- Replaces light bulbs and ceiling/floor tiles. Installs and replaces a various number of dispensers throughout the facility. Makes minor repairs to furniture, cabinets, desk, chairs, crash rails, hand rails and wall protection. White boards, pictures, signs, clocks and other wall fastened items.
- Performs/Assists co-workers outside of related skill when required in an Emergency situation to include but not limited to: General Facility Maintenance, Nurse Call System, Pneumatic Tube System, Medical Gas, Door Operators, Plumbing, Electrical, and/or Heating/Air Conditioning work. may be expected to procure parts and services. Snow Removal. Assist other departments/units in times of Disaster. Light Equipment Mechanics will learn and assist to troubleshoot issues that may come up that is not in their job description
- Inspect building facilities to identify building maintenance needs ensuring the beautification and upkeep of the Facility. Perform preventative maintenance inspections/tasks per defined interval/schedule in a timely manner and document maintenance concerns/resolutions; providing action plans and status reports as needed. Recognizes and corrects potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and communicates this to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves as needed.
- Operate and maintain a variety of mechanical tools and equipment such as power saws, power sanders, drills, air compressors, generators, and various hand tools required for carpentry, and plumbing tasks. Responsible for proper care/cleaning of tools, parts, materials, and work area.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)
Experience
- 1 year Commercial Equipment Repair (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Basic Computer Knowledge
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Drivers License Required
Other Requirements
- Call Rotation
- Weekend Shifts
